How can Michele help us?
As a certified Imago Relationship Therapist Michele is able to
provide fail-proof communication skills, as well as a whole
new way to view relationships, and some explanations for the
hurt and frustration that you are currently experiencing with
one another. It is not THAT you are hurt or frustrated
that is the problem, it's WHAT you are doing or not doing
about those things that is the problem. All
relationships have issues. What separates the successful
relationships from the unsuccessful relationships is HOW you
address the issues.
Most
relationship challenges are not particularly unique.
There are a handful of common hurts and frustrations in
relationships, such as: (feeling disconnected, feeling
controlled, losing passion, losing trust, loss of desire,
differing libidos or sex drives, attractions to others,
feeling unheard, feeling under appreciated or taken for
granted, and feeling "not good enough,"
for starters. With conscious attention and a little work,
these issues are not difficult to resolve, if you WANT to,
BELIEVE that you can, and you are willing to do some work.
The solutions to some of your
frustrations require that you learn new skills, gain new
insights, and exercise new behaviors. Other solutions require
that you adopt new perspectives, and develop greater
compassion for, and acceptance of, one another. These
are solutions that I can assist you in achieving in fairly
short-order.
How
would you like to do your relationship work right AT HOME,
with a specialized, lesbian therapist who is certified
in Imago Relationship Therapy and has over 15 years experience
working with lesbian couples? I happen to be THAT therapist,
and thanks to the internet you can do just that! To find
out how,
go here.
If
you prefer to meet in person many lesbian couples do travel
from all over the U.S. to place their relationship in the care
of Michele O'Mara, LCSW, and Certified Imago Therapist.
Why? Because unlike most therapists, Michele has
narrowed the focus of her practice to the needs of lesbian
couples in particular, which has allowed her to work
with
hundreds of lesbian couples over the last decade.
This experience, combined with
her ongoing education and research, positions Michele to offer
couples more in just a few sessions, than some therapists can
offer in a year or two.

Bring Michele to You
If you have a small group of couples who are interested in
participating in the intensive Lesbian Imago Couple's
Workshop, she will come to your city for two days. This
will cost $500 per couple (with a minimum of 6 couples, or
$3,000 if you have fewer than 6 couples). She will be
responsible for transportation and accommodations. You
are responsible for securing a location (a home, business, or
church, with a large gathering space is sufficient) to provide
the training and Michele will bring the rest.
What is Imago Relationship Therapy?
Imago therapy is a unique style
of relationship counseling created from the Imago Theory
developed by Harville Hendrix in his best selling book,
Getting the Love You Want.
Hendrix
Imago Theory
suggests that during our childhood, we develop an imprint of
the positive and negative traits of our primary caregivers.
This imprint, which is largely unconscious, is a
collection of images and experiences (both positive and
negative) that forms what is called our “IMAGO”
(pronounced eh-mah-go).
Imago is simply another word for image. This imprint or
“imago” represents what is familiar, and over time, it
becomes an unconscious guiding force in our life drawing us to
people and experiences that will help us recreate our
childhood feelings (both positive and negative feelings), so
that we can heal our hurts.
Oprah Winfrey included
"Imago Theory" in her list of "Unforgettable!
Oprah’s Top 20 Shows."
