Contact Us | Click for Info About Our Next Event | Join our Email Group ordinary folks  extraordinary families  gather monthly, somewhere talk, hang-out, play, eat, enjoy  kids discover families just like our family here it's easy to see that love, not gender, not blood, but love, really does make a family    how we started Thirty families, all headed by gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered men and women gathered on Friday, 24th August, 2007.   With the adults barely outnumbering the children, (who ranged in ages from 9 months to 14 years old), there were almost 100 people present for this first of many celebrations to come.   Two weeks prior, Michele O'Mara, an Indianapolis-based therapist specializing in same-sex relationship counseling, sent an email inviting all of the gay, lesbian, and transgendered-headed families she knew of to join together for a social gathering.  News traveled fast, and within two weeks, fifty-five such families responded.  Thirty attended.   Those who couldn't attend expressed hopes of future gatherings, and disappointment for not  being able to attend.      In unanimous agreement, all those present - and not present - agree that this is the start of something long over-due.  Finally, it seems there is a place where my sons, as well as your children, can count on enjoying some social events where there are a lot of other families like our family. _______________
